CHANGING THE PARADIGM: IN REAL ESTATE

Lawrence Cohn was a part of major design innovation concepts back in the ’90s and early 2000’s with his former company, The Lurie Company. Lawrence personally managed three of the company’s building and oversaw the repositioning and leasing the buildings to 100%.

Lawrence was a part of an innovative company that paved the way for several design concepts that are used in the Chicago Real Estate market today. For  example, open-office ceilings and cold-water irrigation used as a cooling system for large commercial buildings.

CHANGING THE PARADIGM:  IN THE COMMUNITY

Out of all Lawrence’s accomplishments, the one he is most proud of was the “Slam Dunk Computer Camp” he developed in 1997.  The camp was held for one week in August 1997 where 115 inner-city kids were taught how to use computers and play basketball. Craig Hodges, former NBA player, taught the kids basketball, and professional volunteers taught computer lessons. Watch a video of Slam Dunk Computer Camp here.
